Description:

Schedule: Three eight hour days per week. Days of the week will vary, but weekends will the primary focus throughout the internship. Dates: 12-06-2021 - 04-29-2022 Agency: National Park Service Location: Cedar Breaks National Monument

Overview: Assist park rangers with all aspects of monitoring and managing winter recreational use at Cedar Breaks National Monument. Requires being proficient at snowshoeing, snowmobiling, basic first aid and other backcountry skills. Intern will learn about the resources of the park and with this knowledge the incumbent can answer visitor questions and provide accurate information.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all Winter Activities at the Monument, maintaining groomed path with signage for snowmobiling, Snowshoeing, and cross-country skis.
  • Assist with Visitor Use Management
  • Visitor Education and Resource Protection
  • Collect daily weather for the National weather service.

Qualifications:

  • First Aid
  • Defensive Driving
  • Operating a Snowmobile
  • Requires experience on Snowmobile and Snowshoes
  • High physical activity and strenuous work
